In a moving coil actuator, the actuator arm rotates around a shaft. The voice coil is the second type of actuator which is used in a hard drive. In a voice coil, the actuator arm rotates due to the current passing through the voice coil.
Hard drives are available in the market in different capacities, which means the size of the drive. The larger the capacity, the larger the storage space. Hard drives are available at different speeds and with different connectors. Hard Drives are available in different types, which are as follows:
- Fixed – the hard drive is fixed in a particular location.
- Removable – the hard drive is removable.
- Internal – the hard drive is inside the computer.
- External – the hard drive is connected to the computer via a cable.

The speed of the SSD is much faster than the HDD. But the life of the SSD is less than the HDD. SSD is more expensive than HDD, but the performance is much better than HDD. In my work, I use both types of hard disks. I use an SSD for my development work and an HDD for the production work.
For the production work, the speed of the HDD is much faster than the SSD. Also, the price of the HDD is much cheaper than the SSD. For the development work, the speed of the SSD is much faster than the HDD. Also, the price of the SSD is much cheaper than the HDD. But, the life of the SSD is much less than the HDD.
